“Partizanska print is an informal art collective initiated in 2014 at the FRIK Festival 6, within the framework of the screen printing workshop, held in the Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje, under the mentor ship of the collective “Matriaršija” from Belgrade. It actively began to work in 2016 when it sets up its independent screen printing studio and since then it establishes continuous collaborations with various artists and collectives from the country, the region, Europe and Asia.
The collective keeps its blood moving and the screen printing through participation in different festivals and exhibitions. Worth mentioning are the group exhibitions TURBULATOR in Marseille at Vendeta Festival and “The end of the world is near” which lasted until February 2021 at the Musée du Art Modeste in Sète, France, and where the collective was represented through selection of experiments (layer of unplanned printing of different artists).
The collective also discovers its identity through solo exhibitions in which it represented series of experiments of printing plants on paper without chemistry (using film emulsion to be exposed) but only silk screen and natural plants as the last solo exhibition „Touch me here“ on the Festival “Underground is easier to breathe” (2022) festival in Skopje, as well as the solo exhibitions on BOSH Festival 12 in Gevgelija („Art residence Papradishte“, 2019), Street Galery in Begrade („The Partisans Diary 2021) and the wood exhibition on Shortest Night in Gothenburg.
The collective continuously develops different workshops for silk printing aiming to push recognition (live printing session in different venues) or publication of art books in silk printing (“Dreams and nightmares“ and “Map of neighbourhood sentiments“ in collaboration with KSP Jadro) but it aslo develops its own production as well by publishing art books of drawings and writings as well as posters. So far, it is a list of around 35 artists of collaboration in the last three years, but also support of collectives and individuals in their artistic expression by silk printing on textile.
It is included in the international project of Creative Europe – TURBULATOR, as a small printing house together with La S from Brussels, La Dernier Cri from Marseille, Arara from Porto and Matriarchija from Belgrade, i.e. it hosted the launch of the project in Skopje, with the opening of an exhibition of Paquito Bolino in Open Graphic Studio in 2018. Partizan print is the publisher of the NA PRIMER fanzine with 4 editions so far, co-organizer of the Papradishte Art Residency (art residency with 40 participants in the village of Papradishte in central Macedonia) and co-organizer of the Papradishte Summer School for children and youth.
Partizan print is working as part of the organization Kolektiv Veternica, arts and culture organization established in 2015. It operates in its own sustainable studio aiming to provide more independent cultural production developed through continuous collaboration of artists that feel in love in the alchemy of screen printing. A process that can be never control or predicted. Process that can destroy everything in a second or make a art piece by mistake, similar as life itself.
